Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2025 · Amazy Products LLC
This Privacy Policy explains how PeerPort collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our platform.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: full name, email address, phone number, country of residence, and role (Requester or Traveler). During KYC verification we collect government-issued ID scans and selfie images. When you post trips or requests, we collect route details, item descriptions, and photos.
2. Identity Verification Data
KYC documents (ID scans, selfies) are processed by our third-party verification partner and are encrypted at rest. These documents are never shared with other users on the platform. We retain verification status (verified/unverified) but do not store raw document images beyond what is required by law.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: create and manage your account, match Requesters with Travelers, process payments through Stripe, verify your identity, send transactional notifications, improve platform safety, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Payment Information
Payment card details are processed and stored exclusively by Stripe, Inc. PeerPort does not store full card numbers or CVV codes. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of payment data. We store only transaction metadata (amounts, timestamps, parties) necessary for dispute resolution.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information with: (a) matched users — only your display name, rating, and verified status are visible to counterparts; (b) Stripe for payment processing; (c) KYC verification providers; (d) law enforcement when legally required. We do not share your phone number or email with other users.
6. Location Data
We do not collect background location data. City-level location may be inferred from your stated country and route information you provide when posting trips or requests.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active, plus up to 7 years for financial records as required by law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at privacy@peerport.app. Note that some data may be retained for legal compliance.
8. Security
We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) to protect your data. Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis. Despite these measures, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, request deletion, object to processing, and data portability. To exercise these rights, email privacy@peerport.app. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Children's Privacy
PeerPort is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will terminate it promptly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of PeerPort after changes constitutes acceptance.
